On May 27, 2010 the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the charity foundation after Sultanbek Khodzhanov on the eve of the Memory day of the victims of the political repressions organized the presentation of the collection of works by Sultanbek Khodzhanov (1894-1938), a prominent state and public figure, publicist, translator, literary study specialist and pedagogue-enlightener. The book saw the light in the series named “Alash murasy” in the “Arys” Publishing House.
The purpose of the activity is the popularization of the heritage of Sultanbek Khodzhanov among the wide circle of readers.
The compiler of the collection who also wrote the foreword and the conclusion is the scientist, professor Amantai Sharip.
There in the collection entered all the publicationpertaining to the socio-political, socio-economic, cultural-enlightenment field, also the short stories, verses and poetical translations.
In this book for the first time were collected the written archives of the famous son of the Kazakh people Sultanbek Khodzhanov.
In the 1920-s he was one of the organizers of the Kazakh printing industry. There in the printed publications which he headed, namely “Byrlik tuy”, “Ak zhol” and also the newspapers “Enbekshi kazak”, “Tilshi”, “Kyzyl Kazakhstan”, “Leninshyl zhas”, “Sholpan”, “Sana”, “Zhas kairat” and others were often published his articles, verses and translations. There are published in this book still little known documents with the reasonings and explanations of S.Khodzhanov on aesthetics. Among the works written in the Russian language there were published articles from the Uzbek newspaper “Pravda Vostoka” and the analytical work “For the 1o-th anniversary of the Soviet autonomy of Turkestan”. Without any changes there were entered into the book the protocols of the interrogations in the Lubyanka prison in 1937 which weretaken from the private archive of the well-known Russian politician and historian Alexander Nikolayevich Yakovlev.
The presentation was hosted by professor Ashirbek Sygai. The speeches were made by the academician T.Kakishev, candidate of science (history) B.Koishybai, the writer and historian D.Isabekov and others.
There was organized the book-illustrative exhibition from the fonds of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicated to the life and activity of Sultanbek Khodzhanov. |
