The National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 23, 2010 made the presentation of books at the Russian National Library (St.-Petersburg, Russia) published by the “Cultural heritage” State Programme.
Director-General of the National library of the RK O.Issakhov solemnly presented the exhibition of books published by the “Cultural heritage” State Programme to the readers of the Russian National Library and the guests of the International bibliographical congress which took place on September 21-23, 2010 in St.-Petersburg. The collection of books (262 copies) was handed over to the Russian National Library in exchange for 276 titles of copies of documents having the historical-cultural value for Kazakhstan within the framework of the Agreement with the Russian National Library by the project “The documentary memory of Kazakhstan within the fonds of the RNL”.
There at the exhibition are presented such editions like the publications of the code of Kazakh folklore “Babalar sozy” in 100 volumes which formed during hundreds of years and which is the rich heritage of the oral folk creative activity of the Kazakhs.
There are widely presented editions on Kazakhstani history: “The history of Kazakhstan in Russian sources”,” The history of Kazakhstan in Persian sources”,” The history of Kazakhstan in Western sources”,” The history of Kazakhstan in Mongol sources” etc. Of indubitable interest are the books from the series “The philosophical heritage of the Kazakh people from ancient times up to modern times”, ”The world cultorological thought”, ”The Kazakh folk traditions and rites etc.”
This action is aimed at the popularization of the uniqueness of Kazakh national culture, the development of the spiritual and educational sphere, the achievements in the sphere of preservation of effective use of the cultural heritage of the country.
The books were delivered to the Russian National Library with the assistance of the General consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St.-Petersburg Zh.Kenshimov. |
