On March 14, 2011 the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the OCLC (the Online Computer Library Center, http://www.oclc.org) will hold an OCLC informational seminar.

  There are invited the specialists of the libraries and informational centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  According to the programme of the seminar there will be made the speeches of the OCLC representatives: Doctor Rein van Charldorp, the executive director of the OCLC and Mrs. Vivien Cook, specialist of the WorldCat, the regional manager.

  The purpose of the seminar is to acquaint the specialists of the libraries and informational centres of Kazakhstan with the activity of the OCLC and also the benefits which the Kazakhstani libraries will get from cooperation with the OCLC. There will be presented at the seminar the production of the OCLC, including the WorldCat – the greatest online bibliographical resource.
