On February 25, 2011 there in the reading-hall of “Kazakhstan kitaptary” department was opened the book exhibition “Gylymi fantastikaga zhol salgan” dedicated to the creative activity of the fantast-writer Zhunis Sakhiyev.

    The winner of the literary prize of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, real member of the Astronomical-geodesic society of the Academy of sciences of the USSR fantast-writer Zhunis Sakhiyev prepared a series of novels in fantastic genre in Kazakhstan.

    Zh.Sakhiyev is the author of such works like “The nest of life” (1971), “The duty” (1987), “The echo from Mars” (2002), “The village which has moved to the planet of Sholpan” (2004), “The witness of the cosmohistory” (2006) and other scientific-fantastical stories and short novels. He is not only a professional astronomer but is also a propagator of astronomy.

    Sakhiyev wrote and published hundreds of scientific-popular articles on the pages of the periodical press. He translated into Kazakh the textbooks “Astrophysics” and “Astronomy”.

    The exhibition includes the materials which characterize the creative activity of the writer, the serial scientific-fantastic novels under the general title “The nomads of the universe”, his translations and the literature about him.
