On April 12, 2011 there at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place the international panel named “25 years to the nuclear catastrophe at the Chernobyl atomic electric station”.

   On April 26, 2011 there is marked the 25-th year of the nuclear catastrophe at the Chernobyl atomic electric station which became the tragedy of the planetary scale.

   There within the framework of the panel the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized out of its fonds the book-illustrative exhibition named “Chernobyl – the harbinger from the XX-th century!” Each document at the presented exhibition is extremely important because it is not only a reminder bout what happened but also the food for analysis and thinking  and the main thing its is food for the conclusions for the future to be drawn. There at the exhibition are the books of the constructors, atomic specialists, ecologists, specialists of dozens of fields of science from different places of the planet, the documents of international forums on the prospects of atomic energetics.

   There in the work of the panel participated the General Consul of Ukraine L.M.Protasova, major-general A.A.Togusov, the veteran-liquidators at the Chernobyl atomic electric station, representatives of the department of social security, the department of public health care, the City Committee of the Red Crescent, the city Committee of Veterans of Almaty city and others.
