On January 30, the day of the solemn opening of the VII-th winter Asian games in Astana, there at the National library of the RK opens the book-illustrative exhibition “The torch of Asian Games on the Kazakh land” – (“Aziada alauy kazak topyragynda”).

   The exhibition opens up with the part “Tauyelsiz Kazakstan sportshylary”, where there are presented the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N>A.Nazarbayev “On the immediate measures for the development of mass sport”, the State programmes for the development of physical culture and sport in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period 2001-2005, “The Law on physical culture and sport”, the Law “On sport”, the Wishes of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev to the KaZakhstani sportsmen before the Olympic games in Atlanta.

    There at the exhibition are the materials on the history of the Asian games, about the prominent sportsmen of Kazakhstan and also about the history of establishment and development of the Olympic movement in the republic, the sports erections in the cities of Astana and Almaty.

    The next parts present stage-by-stage the history of Kazakhstani sport, beginning with the national sport games kazaksha kures, kyz kuu, kokpart tartu, zhamby atu, paluandar kuresi, at shabys, baige, togyzkumalak, asyki, lyanga and many others.

   “Aty anyzga ainalgan baluandar” – (“The legendary names of the Kazakh wrestlers”) –  the books dedicated to the great wrestlers Baluan Sholak, Kazhymukan. These are the recollections of the writers, scientists, sportsmen, trainers, friends of S.Mukanov, S.Begalin, N.Anov, D.Abilov, M.Tanekeyev about the legendary sportsmen who laid the foundations of great Kazakhstani sport.

    “Kazak sportynyn sanlaktary” – (“The champions of Kazakh sport”) - there in the part are presented the materials about the performances of the strongest Kazakhstani sportsmen within the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan and also the literary sketches about some of our renowned athletes and brief information on the participation of the national team of the RK in the XXVIII-th summer Olympic Games in Athens (Greece). Here is the book about the double winner of the World Cup, the silver winner of the Olympic Games in Moscow Serki Konakbayev, the champion of Europe Serki Nurkazov, the double champion Asylbek Kyilymov and others.
