On November 23-24, 2010 there at the National library of the RK took place the training-seminar in access to information for the workers of the National libraries of the countries of the Central Asia, which was held by the Human Rights Commission of the President of the RK together with the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty and the National library of the RK.
The given seminar was held on the eve of the OSCE Summit in Astana in order to fulfill the recommendation of the National action plan in the sphere of humans rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev on May 5, 2009.
The course was elaborated by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty together with the Human Rights Commission of the President of the RK on the basis of the methodologies of the Asian-Pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development and the experience of the Kazakhstani media-trainers. The training was within the framework of implementation of the UNESCO project for the development of universal access and wide-spreading of information in the Central Asia. The tasks of the training-seminar were to form the Central-Asian team of specialists from the libraries directed at improving citizen access to information; improving knowledge and skills in the basics of trainer work; at teaching the participants to write a programme, at carrying out interactive learning process with the purpose of assisting access to information produced by the state organs and accessible to the population in the libraries on citizen requests. |
