On November 5, 2011 there at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the book-illustrative exhibition named “Zhakut sozben orilgen zhaukhar zhyr”, dedicated to the 90-th jubilee of the people’s writer of Kazakhstan, poetess Tursynkhan Abdrakhmanova.

   Her first collection of verses “The Song” was published in 1959.

   She is the author of the poetical collections: “From song to song” (1962), “Do you know them?” (1963), “The Height” (1966), “The Dove” (1962), “The Key” (1972), “Merey” (1981), “The Capricious Girl” (1984), “The Evening” (1987), “I Will Share My Secret” (1992).

  She also published: “The collected works” in two volumes (1992), the monographs “The Poet’s Secret” (1965), “The Poetics of Kasym Amanzholov” (1976). The works of T.Abdrakhmanova have been translated into Russian, Uzbek, Turkmen, Tajik, Kyrghyz, Armenian, Ukrainian, Estonian, Tartar, English, French, Korean, German, Spanish, Polish, Iranian and Chinese.

   T.Abdrakhmanova translated into the Kazakh language the short novel by B.Yunga “The Immortal Ship” and the novel by M.Stelmakh “Human blood is not water”. Tursynkhan Abdrakhmanova (1921-2003) is the people’s writer of Kazakhstan (1984), doctor of science (philology) (1981), the winner of the State prize after Ch.Ualikhanov (1985). She graduated from the Kazakh state university after Kirov (1959). In 1963-1966 she worked as chief editor of the Kazakh state literary publishing house, in 1969-1986 was the senior scientific worker at the Institute of literature and art after M.O.Auezov of the Academy of sciences of the Kazakh SSR.

   She was awarded by the orders of the RK “Parasat” and the USSR “The Badge of Honour”.
