On January 25, 2012 there at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the book-illustrative exhibition named “Shynshyl da syrshyl akyn” dedicated to the centenary jubilee of the well-known writer Zhumagali Sayin.

   The exhibition consists of two parts.

   The first part “Sulu zhyr taza konil”presents the works of Zhumagali Sayin: “Bakyt zhyry” (1937), “Zhoryk zhyldary” (1944), “Aigak” (1948), “Altai” (1950), “Zhyldar”, the collection of verses and poems “Altai”, and also the translations into the Kazakh language of the works of the Russian classics A.Pushkin and M.Yu.Lermontov.

   The second part “Azamat akyn” presents the recollections about the creative activity of Zh.Sayin of the poets and writers of Kazakhstan: Abdilda Tazhibayev, Kasym Kaisenov, Adi Sharipov, Mynbai Rash and many others.

   Zhumagali Sayin (1931) – a Kazakh poet, participant of the Great Patriotic war. In 1930 finished the Petropavlovsk pedagogical special school, in 1931 – the preparatory department of the Moscow institute of non-ferrous metals and gold, in 1932 the Almaty state university. In 1932-1934 worked as teacher in the Karaganda region, in 1934-1937 was head of department of the newspaper “Leninshyl Zhas” (today “Zhas Alash”), in 1937-1941 – editor at the Kazakh publishing house for fiction (today “Zhazushy”), head of section of literature for children and youth of the Writers’ union of Kazakhstan. In 1944-1947 – director of the Kazakh state philharmonic society, the Republican house for creative activity, in 1950-1957 – deputy editor of the magazine “Zhana omyr” and “Adebiyet zhane oner” (today “Zhuldyz”), in 1960-1961 – chief editor of the newspaper “Kazak adebiyety”.

  He was awarded by the order by the order of the Labour Red Banner and medals.
