On December 20, 2011 there at the National library of the RK took place the visit of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China which arrived in Almaty in connection with the 20-th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan and the 20-th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Council of the Xinjiang-Uigur autonomous region of China Askhat Kerimbai.

   There in the delegation were: Mrs. Du Dei Weng, General consul of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Mr. Lo Shi Xiung, deputy General consul of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Mr. Maoken Sytihamuja, head of the government of the Ili-Kazak autonomous district of the Xinjiang-Uigur autonomous region of China and other officials.

  In the course of the visit the guests were acquainted with the activity of the National library of the RK (the Rare books and manuscripts department, the Digital technologies department, the Chinese cultural centre of the NLRK) and donated 45 titles/206 units of literature about China, its historical figures, sight-seeing places, tourism, customs and rites, handicrafts etc.
