On January 25, 2012 at 10:00 hours there at the World literature department of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Federal programme for assistance to libraries of the CIS will take place the ceremony of donation of study and scientific literature to the Centre of Russian studies from the General consulate of the Russian Federation in the RK and the Federal agency on the issues of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the compatriots living abroad and by the international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

  The Centre of Russian studies was formed in 2006. The agreement was concluded between “The foundation for assistance of developing centres abroad” of the Russian Federation and the National library of the RK. The sponsors of the given project are the Federal agency on culture and cinematography of the RF and the Foundation of the first president of Russia B.N.Eltsin. the centre has been created with the purpose of deepening mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia, coordination of joint efforts directed at the development of cultural and economic relations between the two peoples.

  The Centre is preoccupied with the servicing of readers by the materials in the Russian language provided by the Foundation to the National library of the RK with the purpose of widespreading information about the Russian Federation, the peoples that inhabit it, its legislation, state structure, business, science, history, culture etc. as for today there are in the Centre more than 2 400 copies of books in all branches of science.

   During this action there to the fond of the National library will be handed over more than 100 books in the sphere of economics, politics, history, linguistics, culture, science and art.
