On March 20, 2012 there at the National library of the RK took place the lecture by the theme “Copyright in Kazakhstan”. The lecture was organized for the purposes of acquainting the workers of the library with the national legislation in the sphere of copyright, because in connection with the formation of electronic fonds the copyright issues acquire more topicality. The lecturer was Temirlan Tulegenov, candidate of science (law), Chairman of the Authors’ council of “Abyroi” authors society, publisher of “Kamerton” magazine. The lecturer explained that the main normative act that regulates the copyright-legal relations is the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 10, 1996 #6-I on Copyright and related rights (with amendments and additions as of 10.07.2009). during the event mr. Tulegenov answered a number of questions pertaining to the observance of copyright in the activity of the electronic libraries.
At the same time, the lecturer informed about the new amendments to the Law of the RK dated January 12, 2012 #537-IV “On the introduction of amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the RK pertaining to issues of intellectual property”. According to some amendments there exists responsibility for the illegal use of objects of copyright and (or) related rights thorugh the organization, creation of Internet resources for the subsequent access to exchange, storage, transfer of copies of works and (or) objects of related rights in the electronic digital format. |
