There in the Department of world literature opened a book exhibition dedicated to the 75-th birthday of the Soviet and Russian poetess Bella Akhmadulina.

   Bella (Izabella) Akhatovna Akhmadulina (10.04.1937 – 29.11.2010) – a poetess, writer, translator, one of the greatest Russian lyrical poets of the second half of the XX-th century, member of the Union of Russian writers, the executive committee of the Russian PEN-centre, Society of friends of the Fine arts museum after A.S.Pushkin, Honorary member of the American academy of arts and literature, the winner of the State prize of the Russian Federation and the State prize of the USSR.

  B.Akhmadulina wrote verses from her childhood, being occupied in the literary association at the ZIL under the poet E.Vinokurov. Afer finishing school she entered the Literary institute after A.M.Gorkiy.

   One of the main themes of the lyrics of B.Akhmadulina is friendship. Friendship, including friendship-love and friendship-creativity she deemed to be of the strongest human feelings. The heroes of B.Akhmadulina’s verses were the Russian poets – from A.Pushkin to M.Tsvetayeva to the friends and compatriots A.Voznesenskiy and B.Okudjava. She participated in many world poetical festivals.

  During the more than 40-year old creative activity B.Akhmadulina did much to bring nearer the literatures of different peoples. Her translations of classical and modern poets (from Georgian, Armenian, Kazakh and other languages), and also European and American poets receieved high estimates in the literary circles.

   B.Akhmadulina possessed highest authority in the world of literature, the testimony of which is all the things that she wrote as well as the interest of the readers to her creative activity that weakens all the time.

   At the exhibition there from the fond of the National library of the RK are presented the poetical collections, translations of the verses by Bella Akhmadulina (“The unexpectance”, “The garden”, “Night-dreams about Georgia”, “Winter loneliness”) and the literary-ctitical artciles about her creative activity.
