Dear colleagues and readers! The National library of the Republic Kazakhstan congratulates you with the wonderful holiday – the World day of book and copyright which is annually celebrated on April 23.
The purpose of the holiday is to be conducive to reading, book publishing and protection of intellectual property. The World day of book and copyright was proclaimed at the 28-th UNESCO session (November 15, 1995). This day in April was chosen not incidentally – on April 23, 1616 there died or were born M.Cervantes, W.Shakespeare, Moris Druon, Vladimir Nabokov and other renowned writers. In 2012 the Day of book and copyright is dedicated to translation. UNESCO celebrates the 80-th anniversary of “Index Translationum” – the register of translations which contains information, presented by the national libraries, translators, linguists, scientists and data-bases from all over the world. |
