On April 2, 2012 there within the framework of the Russian-Kazakhstani “Meetings at boundaries” mega-project on the basis of the Northern-Kazakhstani regional universal scientific library after S.Mukanov took place the international Web-seminar in the on-line regime named “Library in the dialogue of cultures”.

  The international Web-seminar was held within the framework of the business programme of the regional exhibition “Omsk culture: world without boundaries” which virtually united the specialists of the Northern-Kazakhstani regional universal scientific library after S.Mukanov, the Presidential library after B.N.Eltsin (St.-Petersburg), the Novosibirsk state regional scientific library, the Omsk state regional scientific library after A.S.Pushkin, the Bryansk regional scientific library after F.I.Tyutchev, the Tyumen regional scientific library after D.I.Mendeleyev and the Irkutsk regional state universal scientific library.

   The tasks of the Web-seminar  is the presentation of the resource potentials of the libraries, exchange with experience and the search for new forms of business cooperation.

   There for discussion were put two main themes:

·         “Library as the space of intercultural communications”: the experience and resource potentials of the libraries as being conducive to the strengthening and development of interethnical and inter-national relations, the frontier cooperation as one of the socio-economic priorities of the state.

·         “2012 – the Year of Russian history”: the activity of the Presidential library after B.N.Yeltsin in the formation of the thematic collections of electronic documents and carrying out of activities dedicated to the jubilee and memorable dates in Russian history: 1150 years of Russian statehood; 250 years of the beginning of the rule of Catherine II, 150 years to P.Stolypin, 200 years of the Patriotic war of 1812.
