On May 14 at 17:00 there in the exhibition hall of the National library of the RK took place the presentation of the facsimile edition of the three-volume book by Mikhail Terentyev (1837-1009) named “The history of conquest of Middle Asia with maps and plans” published in 1906 in the city of Saint-Petersburg.

   There with the word of greeting spoke Director-General of the National library of the RK Balabekova Gulissa Kabarovna. In her speech she briefly acquainted the audience with the biography of Mikhail Terentyev, about the significance of his work.

   The moderator of the activity was the well-known writer, cinema script writer and journalist Elubai Smagul. There in the activity participated deputy akim of Almaty city Serik Seidumanov.

   There spoke at the presentation: the cinema director and producer Sergei Azimov; the engineer-geologist, oil-worker, the honored worker of industry of the RK Baltabek Kuandykov; academician, doctor of science (history) Bulat Kumekov; academician of the international academy of information, doctor of science (philology), professor Aslan Zhaksylykov; the chief secretary of “Azat” democratic party Amirzhan Kosanov; the chief editor of “Central Asia Monitor” newspaper Gabdullin Bigeldy; the head of the service of rare books and manuscripts of the National library of the RK Nabat Askarbekova and a permanent reader of the library Tynyshbai Dairabai and many others. Now these editions will be accessible to the wide circle of readers of the National library of the RK.

   There in the activity participated the leading scientists, historians, writers and heads of the scientific institutes and historical museums, students of the higher educational establishments, the library workers and readers of the libraries of Almaty city.
