There in “Kazakhstan kitaptar” department is opened the book exhibition “Konyr kyuz kyumbiri” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the writer, poet, literary translator, critic Kuanyshbai Kurmangali.
Kuanyshbai Kurmangali was born on June 1, 1942 in the Kostanai region. In 1969 he graduated from the Kazakh state university after S.M.Kirov. From 1960 to 1976 he worked as a corrector, literary worker, head of department of the editorial office of the newspaper “Leninshyl Zhas” (nowadays “Zhas Alash”), in 1976-1989 – senior editor, executive secretary, deputy chief editor of the magazine “Kazakhstan kommunisy” (nowadays “Akikat”), in 1978-1986 and 1990-1994 – head of department, deputy chief editor, chief editor of “Zhalyn” publishing house, in 1986-1988 – head of department of the chief editorial office of the Kazakh Soviet Encyclopaedia, in 1995-1996 – chief specialist of the World association of the Kazakhs, chief editor of “El” publishing house, vice-president of the Kazakh academy of education, director of the Republican publishing cabinet, Director-General of “Gylym” scientific publishing centre.
The book exhibition is dedicated to the life and creative activity of Kuanyshbai Kurmangali, there are exposed the books: “Arman araly” (1981), “Kosh kalkatai” (1990),“Konyr kyuz kyumbiri” (2002), “Adebiyet alemine sayakhat” (2012).
There are also presented the works of the Russian and foreign writers translated by the author into the Kazakh language: “Doctor Chekhov” by B.Shubin (1979), “Omyr otkeldery” by Yuozas Baltushis (1986), “Orys khalyk ertegilery” (1990), “Shokan Ualikhanov” by I.Strelkova (2008), “Bazarlyk” (2009), “Bovari khanym. Buvar men Pekyushe“ (2010).
