There in the Department of world literature on May 4, 2012 at 11-00 hours took place the opening of the Month of Slavic culture in Almaty city. The activity was opened by The Day of Slavic written culture (the creation of the Slavic alphabet) and will finish by The Pushkin day (June 6, 2012).

   During the work of the Month of Slavic culture there were organized the book-illustrative exhibitions by the following themes:

 · “The culture of the Slavic peoples”,

· “The 200 years of the Patriotic war of 1812. The battle of Borodino”,

· “The sacred memory to the Great Victory“.

   In the opening programme there by the General consulate of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan were donated to the National library 117 titles of electronic, print and audio editions of Russia.

   There in the opening ceremony participated the consul of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the heads of the Slavic national cultural centres, the educators and students of the higher educational establishments, the specialists of the library.

   The work of the book exhibitions will last to June 6, 2012, we invite all those wishing to become acquainted with the exposition in the Hall of world literature on the 3-rd floor of the National library of the RK.
