The delegation of the National library of the RK headed by Director-General G.K.Balabekova participated in the international forum “Eurasian culture in the new world” (15.06.2012, Astana city, the Palace of peace and concordance). 

   The carrying out of the forum in Astana city was initiated by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the project of the Interstate foundation of humanitarian cooperation of the countries-participants of the CIS “The cultural capitals of the Commonwealth”, the honorary mission of the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2012 was laid upon the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana city. Also Astana city is in 2012 the cultural capital of the Turkic world. The purpose of the Forum is the unification of the creative comminuty of the countries of the Commonwealth in the understanding of the spiritual, cultural-study, civilizational aspect of implementation of the Eurasian idea, the role of culture in the global processes of the modern times.

   The word of greeting of the head of state N.A.Nazarbayev to the participants at the opening of the international forum “The Eurasian culture in the new world” was read by the secretary of state of the RK M.A.Kul-Mukhammed. The tasks of the forum became the spiritual and value consolidation of the cultural, creative, humanitarian public of the CIS; the giving of impulse to the development of Eurasian unity in diversity, the cultural and spiritual interaction of the peoples of the CIS as the important factor in the deepening of the integration processes; the strengthening of the potential of cultural cooperation, the dialogue of cultures and tolerance in the Eurasian space; the formation of the optimal models of interaction in the implementation of the cultural policy between the profile ministries; the cultural and spiritual drawing together of the peoples of the CIS. The organizers of the Forum are the Ministry of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Interstate foundation of humanitarian cooperation of the countries-participants of the CIS.

   There in the forum participated the heads and representatives of the Interstate foundation of humanitarian cooperation, the ministers of culture, the delegations of creative and humanitarian public of the countries of the CIS, the heads and representatives of international organizations, the state organs, the deputies of Parliament, of the diplomatic corps of the Commonwealth in Kazakhstan.

   There within the framework of the Forum in the Palace of peace and concordance was presented the exhibition “The culture of Kazakhstan: yesterday, today, tomorrow” dedicated to the development of culture and art of Kazakhstan and the results of implementation of the Strategic national project “Madeni mura”.

    The participants of the Forum approved the Address to the leaders of the states, scientific and creative public of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Forum ended with the concert dedicated to the Year “Astana city – the cultural capital of the Commonwealth”.
