On July 23, 2013 at 11:00 hours there in the Hall of librarianship timed to the 70-th anniversary of the well-known writer, classic of domestic literature, the winner of the State prize of Kazakhstan, the prize of Lenin komsomol of Kazakhstan, the All-union literary prize after N.Ostrovski Oralkhan Bokeyev will take place the presentation of the collection of his selected works published in 2013 by the publishing corporation “KazAkparat” in the series “Adebiyet alemi”.

  Oralkhan Bokeyev was born on September 28, 1943 in the village Chingistai of the Katon-Karagai district of the Eastern-Kazakhstani region. In 1969 he graduated from the Kazakh state university after S.M.Kirov. He began his labour activity in the editorial boards of the district and regional newspapers. From 1968 he worked in the editorial boards of the republican newspaper “Leninshyl Zhas” and the magazine “Zhuldyz”, beginning 1991 he was chief editor of the newspaper “Kazak adebiyety”.
  His first collection of short novels and stories “Kamchiger” published in Almaty in 1970 brought acknowledgement to the beginner-writer. There after the first collection appeared the others: “The Pleiads” (1971), “Where are you, my foal with white forehead?”, “Call me back, my foal!” (1973), “The glacial mountains” (1975). The works of the writer were translated into many languages of the world. Some of his works were filmed.
  The whole prose of O.Bokeyev is aimed at meditations upon good and evil, strength and courage, upon the real and false spiritual values.

  The moderator at the presentation will be the honored figure of the republic of Kazakhstan, president of the publishing corporation “KazAkparat” Konysbek Botbai Kozhamzharovich.

  There in the presentation will participate Dulat Isabekov, Beksultan Nurzhekeyev, Kadirbek Segyzbayev, Kuanyshbai Kurmangali, Zhusipbek Korgasbek, the prominent writers and poets, public figures, literary specialists, relatives of O.Bokeyev, the librarians of Almaty city and representatives of mass-media.
