  There in the reading-hall of the Service of periodical editions is organized an exhibition dedicated to the 80-th anniversary of the magazine “Tekhnika - molodezhi”.
  “Tekhnika - molodezhi” is a monthly scientific-popular and literary-fiction magazine. It is published from July, 1933. At the end of the 1980-s – beginning of the 1990-s the magazine was known through the publication of scientific-fantastic works by Western authors. Thus in the magazine for the first time in the Russian language were published the novels “The fountains of paradise” by Arthur Clarke and “The star kings” by Edmond Hamilton. The magazine one of the first in the Soviet Union started informing about the domestic achievements in the sphere of military technologies and made accessible the technical kinds of sport. The main headings of the magazine are “Technics and technologies”, “Achievements and innovations”, “Crafts and hobbies”, “Technics and sport”, “Club for fans of fantastic fiction”, “Secrets of forlorn civilizations” and others.
  The editorial board of the magazine organized more than 20 all-Russian and international exhibitions-competitions of self-made cars. There was shown on TV the programme called “You can do it” with the use of the materials of the magazine and participation of its authors.
  The archive of the magazine numbers approximately 900 issues which totals around 1 billion copies which were read by 6 billion people! There upon the publications of the magazine grew up six generations of the Russian scientific-technical intelligentsia. The magazine always gave the young readers the basics of scientific-technical knowledge, acquainted them with the latest achievements in the sphere of science and technologies, industry, medicine, space, agriculture.

  Тhere upon the exhibition out of the fond of the National library of the RK are presented the magazines “Tekhnika - molodezhi” of different years of publication and the materials disclosing the work and achievements of the editorial board during the periods of existence of the magazine.
