There in the reading hall of the Arts department is organized the book exhibition “Teatr – oner zhyuregi” dedicated to the 90-th anniversary of the Kazakh state academic drama theatre after M.O.Auezov.

 

   The Kazakh state academic drama theatre after M.O.Auezov was organized at the end of 1925 in Kzyl-Orda. The theatre opened on January 13, 1926 by staging an excerpt from the play “Enlik-Kebek” by M.O.Auezov and a big concert.
To Almaty city the theatre was transferred in 1928. Beginning from 1937 the theatre was awarded the title of academic and from 1961 it was named after M.O.Auezov. At the sources of the theatre there stood the masters of folk creative activit6y and artistic amateur creative activity: K.Kuanushpayev, S.Kozhamkulov, E.Umurzakov, K.Zhandarbekov, K.Badyrov, Zh.Shanin, I.Baizakov, A.Kashaubayev, K.Munaitpasov, F.Ashkeyeva, Z.Atabayeva, Sh.Baizakova, M.Shamova, Zh.Shanina and others.
During the first years of the existence of the theatre the directors were forwarded from among the actors themselves: Zh.Shanin, S.Kozhamkulov, K.Zhandarbekov.
   There upon the creation of the first repertoire worked the writers M.Auezov, S.Seifullin, B.Mailin. There in the early period were staged the plays reflecting the establishment of the Soviet power: “The red falcons” by S.Seifullin, “Zarlyk” by O.Uspanova and E.Uteulina; and also the everyday life of the old aul, the pre-revolutionary life of the Kazakh people: “Karakoz”, “Baibishe - tokal” by M.Auezov, “Marriage”, “The sly mullah” by B.Mailin, “Malkambai” by E.Erdanayev, “Torsykbai”, “Aidarbek”, “Arkalyk-batyr” by Zh.Shanin.
   There in the 30-s of the last century the thaetre attracts the professional directors (M.G.Nasonov), artists (K.Khodzhikov) and starts the staging of difficult dramatic works: “The night thunders” by M.Auezov, “Amangeldy” by B.Mailin and G.Musrepov. In 1941-45 there in the repertoire are mainly the plays reflecting the heroic fight of the Soviet people: “In the hour of severe trials” by M.Auezov, “The guards of honour” by M.Auezov and A.Abishev, and also “Akhan-Sere – Ak Tokty” by G.Musrepov, “The taming of the shrew” by W.Shakespeare.
Among the most significant plays staged in the 1940-80-ss are “Friendship and love”, “Career and consciousness” by A.Abisheva, “The millionaire” by G.Mustafina, “Yesterday and today”, “The hard fates” by Sh.Khusainov, “One tree doesn’t make a forest” by A.Tazhibayev, “The little wolf under the cap”, “The match-maker came”, “In the alien land” by K.Mukhamedzhanov, “Saule”, “The blizzard” by T.Akhtanov, “The heart of the poet” by Z.Shashkin, “The unquenchable flame” by Z.Kabdolov, “The rise to Fudziyama” by Ch.Aitmatov and K.Mukhamedzhanov and many others.
   The leading actors of the theatre: the people’s artists of the RK A.Ashimov, S.Orazbayev, T.Zhamankulov, K.Tastanbekov, M.Utekeshova, Z.Sharipova, N.Myshbayeva, T.Tasybekova; the honored artistes of the RK Kh.Elebekova, B.Imasheva and others.
The plays are in the Kazakh language with the simultaneous translation. There at the book exhibition is presented the literature on the history and development of the Kazakh state academic drama theatre after M.O.Auezov from the fond of the National library of the RK.
