On September 3, 2016 there at the square before the building of the Academy of sciences took place the III-rd book festival KitapFest-2016. The activity yakes place within the framework of the celebration of the millennium of Almaty city. The organizers of KitapFest are the Charity fond “Bauyrzhan”, the Akimat of Almaty city, the Eurasian association of franchising. 
   There within the framework of KitapFest took place the fair and exhibition of books, book-exchange, reading of verses, meetings and master-classes with the Kazakhstani writers. Also there in the activity actively participated the librarians. There was carried a questionnaire among the readers with the purpose of popularizing of reading of books among children and youth, and to raise the status of literature. The most interesting part of the festival – one could take the books freely and in any quantity. And also there at the book festival approximately 3000 books were distributed. This year there were participated the publishing houses: “Kazakparat”, “Kazak universitety”, “Aspandau” etc. Also there was organized a Live-concert.
