01.10.2008 – There within the framework of the Day of the city the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Akimat of Almaty city held the exhibition “The new acquisitions of the all-national fond in the course of implementation of the “Cultural heritage” programme.

        There within the framework of the given programme the specialists of the National library of the RK carry out from 2004 the scientific-search work for the acquisition of printed sources in the libraries and archives of the countries of Western Europe that have the historical-cultural value for Kazakhstan. There in the course of the expedition in 2007 were received the valuable documents and materials previously inaccessible for domestic researchers. There among the documents absent in the libraries of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries were acquired 30 titles of Kazakh books in Arabic script. The given materials and documents substantially supplement the fond of written sources of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the near future they will be made openly accessible for Kazakhstani readers.
