02.12.2008 The National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 2, 2008 together with the Russian academy of justice and the Intertstate foundation for humanitarian cooperation between the states-participants of the CIS held the workshop “Copyright in the XXI century”.
There in the work of the workshop participated the guests from Russia:
Terletskiy V.V., candidate of science (law), Director-General of the Russian copyright-legal society “Copirus”; Mitina E.N., federal judge of the 1-st class in retirement, deputy head of the Department on theoretical and practical problems of judicial protection of intellectual property of the Russian academy of justice; Morgunova E.A., candidate of science (law), the Russian academy of justice; Neiman L.B., acting member of LESI (the International license society), IAEL (the International association of lawyers in the sphere of entertainment activities), IP LAWYERS NETWORK (The international network organization of lawyers in the sphere of protection of intellectual property), and also Djumashev G.S., the expert of the Department of expertise of normative-legal acts of the Juridical department of the Ministry of education and science; Ainakulov Sh.Zh., head of the department on copyright of the Department of justice of Almaty city; Sharipbayeva Kh.S., the judge of the Almaty city court; Aidarbekov B.T., deputy chairman of the Kazakhstani copyright society, lawyer; Tulegenov T.B., Councilor on legal matters, head of the juridical service of the joint-stock society “Kazakhfilm” after Sh.Aimanov, the expert; lawyers, law experts, book publishers, librarians, library readers.
The participants of the workshop were greeted by Orynbassar Issakhov, Director-General of the National library of the RK.
There was read the Greeting address on behalf of the Committee of culture of the Ministry of culture and information of the RK.
In the course of the workshop there were discussed the issues of copyright-legal protection of works in Russia, the collective management of copyright, protection of rights’ holders, legislation on copyright of the RK.
The participants of the workshop had the opportunity to hear about the activity of the Russian copyright-legal society “Copyrus” and the Kazakhstani copyright society on the management of the authors’ right. The librarians spoke about the raising of the importance of copyright in the activity of the electronic libraries. There in the course of the discussion were given recommendations on the observation of copyright during the formation of electronic libraries and proposals on the elaboration of exceptions for the libraries during the creation and use of electronic copies of the authors’ works. |
