On March 17, 2009 at 11-00 hours there at the Center of Cultural Programmes of the National library of the RK took place the meeting of the Heads of the Leading Publishing-Houses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The primary goals of the given meeting were the discussions between the Heads of the Publishing-Houses, the approval of joint solutions of the accumulated problems and the discussion pertaining to the Organization of the “Spring-Autumn” Book Fair.
Director-General of the National library of the RK Mr.Orynbassar Issakhov, speaking about the trends of work for the library, expressed his opinion about the coming book-fair, the preparation of which was being carried out by the library.
The director of “Kazakhstan” Publishing House N.Orazbek supported the idea of carrying out the Book Fair but he also proposed to discuss and approve the common decision of the Publishing-Houses about the organization at the National library of “The Publishers Club”.
The Head of the Acquisitions Department of the National library of the RK K.M.Izambekova, noting close cooperation of the Library with the Kazakhstani Publishing Houses and thinking their primary goal to be the collection and preservation of national heritage which is handed over from generation to generation, thanked them for their all-possible contribution aimed at the replenishment of the library’s book fond.
Director of “Raritet” Publishing House Z.Ya.Ten supported the idea of the Book Fair because he thinks that at the present moment the problem of propagation and widespreading of books is very important.
Representatives of other Publishing Houses that participated in the meeting expressed willingness to send their proposals and ideas about the Book Fair to the National library.
The National library of the RK received the assignment to consider all the proposals and prepare the necessary documents pertaining to the Book-Fair and “The Publishers Club”.
