There at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the book-illustrative exhibition “Kenen akyn – kemel akyn” and there was organized the panel by the theme “The creative activity of Kenen Azerbayev” dedicated to the 125-th anniversary of the Kazakh akyn and zhyrau, singer and composer Kenen Azerbayev.
Kenen Azerbayev is the honoured figure of art of the Kazakh SSR (1957), the People’s akyn of the Kazakh SSR, the member of the Writers and Composers’ Union of the USSR, the pupil and successor of Djambyl, he wrote approximately 150 works in the verse form adapted for the music. In his works he continued the best traditions of the great Kazakh akyns – Birzhan-Sal, Akhan-Sere, Baluan-Sholak, Zhayau-Musa.
The activity was organized jointly by the Akimat of Almaty city and the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, in which there participated the prominent figures of culture, writers, literary workers, comrades, pupils, the successors of the creative heritage of Kenen Azerbayev. |
