Director-General of the National library of the RK Issakhov O.I. met the delegation of the Seoul committee for foreign cultural heritage of Korea headed by Hong Yung Sik, professor emeritus of Donguk university.

The purpose of the meeting is handing over of the catalogue of rare books in the Korean language compiled on the basis of the fond of rare books and manuscripts of the National library of the RK. The delegation included deputy speaker of the Seoul city council Bou Dou Vang, general secretary of the Buddha Association Li Sang-Gung , poets and journalists.

The catalogue is compiled and published in accordance with the Agreement between the National library of the RK and the Seoul committee for foreign cultural heritage of Korea signed in 2005. The catalogue in the Old Korean language includes 436 titles. In the course of the meeting there were discussed the issues of translation and publication of the given catalogue into the Kazakh, Russian and English languages and the organization of an exhibition of books published recently about Korea and the Koreans in the CIS and their subsequent handing over to the National library of Korea by the National library of the RK.
