There in the Centre of cultural programmes of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place the book exhibition “The best books from Russia”, given over to its fond by the Russian Foundation for assistance for developing cultural centres abroad.

The Russian Foundation for assistance for developing cultural centres abroad gave over to the fond of the National library for the Centre of Russian researches the best modern literature in the amount of 880 books, including: “The big illustrated encyclopedia ”Russki Mir”, “The history of the Stalin’s GULAG” (in 7 volumes), “The annual of the manuscript department of the Pushkin house”, “The dictionary of the Old Slav language”: (the reprint edition in 4 volumes), “The history of the Russian fine art” (in 12 volumes), “The library encyclopedia”, fiction. There within the framework of the given activity took place the demonstration of the exhibition of artistic works dedicated to the UNESCO World Heritage.

The works are done with the use of different techniques and they are the objects of the World cultural and natural heritage entered into the UNESCO List and situated in the countries of the Shanghai Organization of Cooperation: Kazakhstan, China, Russia. There at the exhibition were presented more than 30 works made by the pupils of the artistic studios of Moscow and the Moscow region and also by the masters – members of the Artists union of Russia. Those who made speeches underlined the importance of this activity because the new literature is necessary for the improvement of information of the citizens of Kazakhstan and Russia. First Deputy Director-General of the National library of the RK Gulissa Kabarovna Balabekova noted that the Centre of Russian researches is the possibility for our readers to become acquainted with those processes and events that happen today in Russia. The works of the Russian authors in the sphere of culture, science and art are to be conducive to the development of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. 

There in the ceremony participated Gulissa Kabarovna Balabekova - First Deputy Director-General of the National library of the RK, Gorodetskiy Vladimir Arkadyevich – chairman of the board of the Russian Foundation for assistance for developing cultural centres abroad, Melanyina Marina Vladimirovna – deputy chairman of the Russian Foundation for assistance for developing cultural centres abroad & deputy head of the Centre of Oriental literature of the Russian state library, Meshchaninov Borislav Borisovich – General consul of the Russian Federation in Almaty city, UNESCO representatives, representatives of the archives, museums and libraries of Almaty city.
