The main trends:
- The provision of preservation of the universal scientific fond of the NLRK,

- The scientific-methodological, informational and practical assistance to the services dealing with the preservation of the library fonds of the country and the Central-Asian region.

- Executes the restoration and binding of the fond of the NLRK,
- Analyzes and makes proposals for the perfection in the activity of the service,
- Collects, treats and analyzes information on the state of the fond of the NLRK, elaborates and proposes the ways for solution,
- Inculcates the modern technologies in restoration and binding of documents.
